Activities like exercise and sleep. I would argue for all if medically able to, but especially those who cannot or do not do moderate exercise, optimal blood levels of vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is not the only factor important to obtain adequate DRS allowing the glymphatic drainage system (GDS) to function if able but it is important.
That one can have DRS with moderate exercise while suffering from extremely low blood levels of vitamin D3 is amazing. That speaks to how God has made the body. That is has many ways to accomplish similar functions. This makes sense as who would want to fly in a plane that had no redundancy of critical systems.
Such that one simple system that say in a car could break and we can simply pull over to the curb but when ten thousand feet above the ground we don’t have that luxury. Same with the body. To me that we are looking into how such systems are connected is fabulous.
As Occam’s razor goes, the simplest solution is often the most probable. How we could be so arrogant to believe that we could not acquire adequate DRS and there be no consequences. Even this ability to survive without optimal blood levels of vitamin D3 is a testament to how versatile our body is.
That yes sun light is important and the most frequent way the majority obtain most of their vitamin D3. The sun also is important for other functions and substances in our body. However, that we can also acquire significant quantities of vitamin D3 through our diet is key. As are the multiple ways we can acquire vitamin D3.
That many bodily functions can continue without much if any vitamin D3 in our system and yet not be life threatening in the short term is amazing. As without this ability we would be severely limited. Limited as surely without this flexibility our ancestors would not have been able to populate so many diverse climates and essentially all the geography of Earth.
To me that we can go so many decades without adequate DRS, a functioning GDS and optimal blood levels of vitamin D3 and only then do we start see the severe detrimental effects is amazing. Amazing and a testament to how beautifully designed is our body. How much we can abuse it and what a small price we pay for that abuse.
No Alzheimer’s nor any of these diseases is a small price for lack of adequate DRS, compromising GDS function. Nor are other proteinopathies due to the above and/or the GDS being damaged and not functioning fully. However, that it may takes many decades of essentially continuous inadequate DRS and GDS issues before symptoms appear is no small amount of abuse.
The bottom line is if your GDS works properly if you do moderate exercise, you’re ok. However, moderate exercise with optimal doses and blood levels of vitamin D3 is better. Better as optimal blood levels result in more than adequate DRS allowing the GDS to function. Allowing the brain to clean itself.
Both optimal blood levels of vitamin D3 and moderate exercise are better than either by itself. As I have tried to lay out in particular about vitamin D3 in my other blog posts. Thus, a small cost to markedly improve your long term health. Yes, much more legitimate research needs to be done. Not research at doses and blood levels that are sure to fail.
As people are demanding improved health. However currently, medical research for the most part in developing new treatments for current diseases is only finding more and more complex and expensive ways for little if any improvement. Making healthcare even more out of reach for most. Preventing a disease, prevention like with optimal blood levels of vitamin D3 is better. As once the genie is out of the bottle, we contract the disease, the cost and suffering go way up.
