Then in this same Holistic Primary Care article they bring up a recent New York Times article. 1 In that article they went after Dr. Michael Holick a Boston University endocrinologist who is a proponent of the importance of vitamin D3 by attacking his credibility.
As someone that has been under a similar attack by The New York times it seems in my opinion that they have someone pulling their strings to attack those who they see as a threat to their product or products. Is Dr. Holick or for that matter Dr. Nissen good or bad?
I don’t know but for all including myself we need to not just brush them as black or white but dissect what they are saying in each case and compare to the truth. Otherwise those who work to confuse us win and I believe our health and freedom suffers.
Curiously The New York Times does not list their conflicts of interest. I wonder what percentage of their advertisers would suffer if vitamin D3 does have the effect on people’s health like our “cult” believes it does have.
Also, in my opinion the New York Times seems to be talking out of both sides of their mouth as one of the first articles I came across that interested me in vitamin D’s beneficial effects was in their paper. 2 So, confused?
What, I have found is if you throw out enough misinformation to confuse people they just give up and move on. Seems that is what some are trying to make happening with vitamin D3. Looking at the online response to this article it seems it has accomplished its apparent mission to confuse people. 3
Do I think vitamin D3 is perfect? No. Is there much to learn? Yes! But we need an open mind, study how other vitamins and minerals interact with it and hash out the complete system. Not protect a pharmaceutical industry that we should appreciate as has done so much to save lives.
But perhaps is now overloaded with excess medications to treat diseases that if we had been more “scientific” might have been rare or never existed. Bold statement but I believe with some justification and until really studied in an unbiased way we will never know.
As always you need to have your doctor on board as though safe from all the research I discuss in my book and blog it is always wise to be careful. Eventually the truth about how critical vitamin D3 is to our health will come out.
Though perhaps millions die due to suboptimal levels and efforts to block substances like vitamin D3 will be like what the cigarette industry was able to pull off for years. I of note didn’t mention the extremely low dose of omega-3 and how that it showed no beneficial effects wasn’t surprising either.
